Bon Vivant ~ Cafe & Market

photo 2photo 5

The definition of “Bon Vivant” is described as a person who enjoys good food and wine. Check ~ that would be me!

I LOVE discovering a new bakery or cafe especially a french inspired one! I met my good friend Monica and her sister Megan here (Bon Vivant) this afternoon for a little coffee and crepe paired with afternoon girl chat. So lovely! Some would say it is a negative that I managed and consulted restaurants for so many years because I tend to be a tough critic when walking into a restaurant. Just like anything one studies and puts their energy into for a great period of time, it is very easy for me to analyze how the business is run. I was really impressed with Bon Vivant located on Glendale Blvd. in Los Angeles.

Upon entrance, the interior has a cool vibe with high beamed ceilings and cute funky furniture. High top tables, couches and a nice terrace to enjoy dining.

I loved their bakery case- nice and uniquely designed.

They also had an amazing cheese and charcuterie station that instantly made it feel european. Anytime I am teased to feel like I am in Europe I am a happy girl!  You order up at a counter, they give you a number and the food is taken out to your table.

These ladies are so much fun!

They have an extensive menu, complete with small plates, entrees, bakery items, brunch items, salads, kids meals and even char-grilled oysters by the dozen. All ranging from $12-$15 dollars per item. I ordered an iced coffee and we split the berry crepes. Really delicious and not too sweet. The crepes had a lovely and tangy creme friache to top it off.

I will be back! I really loved the atmosphere and I can’t wait to try more of their items. Oh, and did I mention they have a wonderful and fun cocktail list! Brunch is also served daily from 9am-4pm! Next time we will have cocktails! And oysters! Happy Sunday everyone! xo
