Good Morning! Happy Sunday! I had the most lovely evening catching up with my sister….We spent 3 hours at Pop Champagne and Dessert Bar in old town Pasadena and then had a slumber party back at my place. Such a fun girls night and much needed!
This adorable little haven was perfect with chandeliers and champagne, full dinner menu and incredible desserts. Naturally, since I was in pink….we ordered “Pretty in Pink” Champagne flights to start the night…
We lingered and sipped Champagne catching up about life…nothing better than that for several hours on a Saturday night….especially paired with delicious food!
To start….hummus, tomato bruschetta and olive tapenade…
Ahi tuna tartare
Wild Mushroom and Goat Cheese Toasts
Vegetable Risotto….VERY good!
Cookies and Cream Dessert!
We had a blast….I am off to take a long walk and then a french lesson this afternoon. I made the most delicious oatmeal raisin scones with maple and honey glaze…..my sister attested these were “so delicious” Enjoy!!!
Oatmeal Raisin Scones
2 cups AP Flour
1 cup oats (old fashioned)
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, cubed
1/3 cup heavy cream
1.5 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1 cup raisins
Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, oats. Separately combine eggs, vanilla, and heavy cream. Chop butter. In a mixer, add cubed butter to dry ingredients. Mix until butter is the size of peas. Whisk your wet ingredients and slowly add to the dry/butter mix. Once combined add in your raisins.
Bake scones at 375 degrees F for 20-25 minutes. Toothpick entered into center of scone should come out clean. Let cool completely.
Make your maple/honey glaze…. Combine 1/2 cup powder sugar with 3 tbsp maple syrup and 2 tbsp honey.
Drizzle glaze over scones.
