Those were all my glasses from the tasting… Just kidding! 🙂
Wow! What a fabulous day. We met this morning at Patricia’s and jumped in chauffeured cars to drive out to the quaint and luxurious town of Gigondas.
This is yet another village… About 20 minutes from Vaison-la-Romaine. We headed into a cellar and tried five Chateau-neuf-du-pape. All were extremely delicious. They also were all very different. To be awarded the name of Chateau-neuf-du-pape in France, the winemaker can use a blend or single grape. With this being said, only 13 varietals are allowed to be used. Also, it must be grown in a certain region of France. My favorite was the one with Syrah grape as dominant.
This was Hugo our sommelier.
After this, we headed to Michelin star restaurant L’Oustalet
Eggplant velouté with truffle mushroom mouse
Bouillabaisse with five different kinds of fresh caught fish including lobster
Selection of three cheeses
Stunning. Mint sorbet with Strawberry Macaron and white chocolate
And finally a selection of bite size confections perfect with our espresso. Heaven ladies and gentleman. Heaven.
This was an incredible day. This restaurant was absolutely fantastic. I will be back here one day.
Tonight I have been invited to a French family’s home for an aperitif. I am so looking forward because this is going to be very authentic.
Oh! And dinner last night up at Madame Wells Farmhouse was sensational. Pictures below…
Bonne Journee Everyone! Xo
